Cutroom

One timeline. Every source in sync.

What it is

A multicamera podcast editor built to move raw recordings toward a reviewable cut through one controllable system.

How it works

Ingest, sync, transcription, editing decisions, review, and output live in one visible timeline.

Working

The room

Cutroom exists because podcast editing is mostly time arithmetic that people were doing by hand. Cameras drift apart. Words need finding. Cuts need reasons. The room does the arithmetic and keeps the reasons.

Raw camera and audio files come in exactly as they are and are never modified in place. From there the episode becomes something a person and an agent can work on together, through the same controls.

Inside Cutroom

01

Sync without guessing

Sources align to sample precision. The drift between cameras is measured and recovered.

02

The transcript is the edit surface

Every project is transcribed to the word, with speakers attributed, locally. Finding a moment means searching what was said.

03

Decisions you can open

The edit pass proposes cuts, camera switches, and audio moves against the transcript. Every decision is a record with a reason, and every one can be overridden.

04

A timeline that shows why

Camera-coloured clips, waveforms, and a transcript that strikes through exactly what the cut removed. The screen shows the reason behind every cut.

05

Masters and clips from one project

Finished horizontal masters and vertical social clips render from the same edit, with brand packs, motion stings, and captions burned to the word.

06

One controllable surface

The whole edit can be driven through one interface layer. The app and the command line are equal clients of it, which is what lets agents work a cut at all.

The rule it runs on

The edit is auditable.

Every automated decision in Cutroom exists as an inspectable record a person can read, question, and reverse. That is the difference between an assistant and a slot machine.

In the current build

  • Building

Boundary precision on cuts: sentence-aware clip edges and rejection of mid-word cuts.

  • Building

Motion and caption elements becoming draggable, trimmable timeline citizens.

  • Building

Deeper caption intelligence for names and brand words.

Time feeds the world.

Cutroom turns recordings into synchronised, searchable time. The shows in this building run through it, and the clips it renders are what the distribution systems carry outward.
